Legal infrastructure for your startups and your funds
Training, legal coaching, and contract review for organizations that support and invest in African startups. We legally structure your portfolios so they pass due diligence.
Two tracks, one goal: reduce legal risk
Incubators & accelerators
You support startup cohorts and want them legally structured from day one — not discovering problems during due diligence.
Portfolio startups reach out to ALF when they have legal needs. We run online coaching sessions, then review contracts as needed.
Investment funds & management companies
You invest in African startups and need your portfolio companies structured to LP-level standards — governance, documentation, compliance.
Training fund managers on the legal aspects essential for management companies: fund structuring, governance, investment documentation, due diligence.

Training & coaching: your questions
Two weeks before, we send a questionnaire to participants to identify their specific needs. The session lasts 2 to 4 hours, combines theory and case studies, and ends with a Q&A. All materials (templates, checklists) are provided after the session.
Both. Most of our training is delivered online (Zoom, Teams), but we also travel for in-person sessions — especially for governance bootcamps or incubator events.
Yes. The "Legal Foundations" workshop is designed for founders just starting out. The goal is to give them the basics to avoid structuring mistakes that will cost them later — before it's too late.
That's exactly what most of our partners do. A group workshop to lay the foundation, then 1:1 coaching and contract review for startups that need it. We adapt the format to your program.
We primarily operate under French law and OHADA law (17 francophone African countries). For intellectual property, we also cover OAPI and ARIPO. Our lawyer network enables us to handle multi-jurisdictional matters.
Yes. All our workshops and coaching sessions are available in both English and French. We regularly work with francophone programs and fund managers investing across francophone Africa.
